I received a Reservation of Rights letter from my insurance company...
A Reservation of Rights letter is usually one of the first letters your insurance company will send you after receiving notification of your claim. Most Reservation of Rights letters are short and simple, however some insurance companies' standard Reservation of Rights letter can seem intimidating and make you feel as if your claim has been denied or is under investigation for wrongdoing. The Reservation of Rights letter is simply a document stating that the insurance company reserves the right to deny the claim if the damage does not qualify as a covered loss and the right to investigate the claim upon suspicion of fraudulent activity.
